Maureen Evans grew up in Northern Canada. She resolved to writing her way out young and has done so widely ever since — kindling activism and wandering some 50 countries, creating the cookbook EAT TWEET in New York and literary software POETICA in London, earning her MA Poetry in Belfast and placing poems in small journals worldwide — with her writing remaining ever-rooted in the north: wild and humane. She now splits time between the open road, making art in Brooklyn, NY, and building a timber home on Quadra Island, BC. She is currently seeking a publisher for her first collection of poems, FATE & KNIVES; while already at work on her next book, REWILDING.
